Baby Shower Tips for Guys
My mother threw a baby shower for her boss at our home when I was a kid. Even at that young naïve age I identified one crucial element and ingredient for the success of her party: she mercifully threw my dad, my brother and I OUT OF THE HOUSE.
There’s some debate about whether the man should be included; if you’re the Martin Short character in Father of the Bride or Harvey Fierstein, then this might be acceptable and even a chance for you to show off some fabulous window treatments. However, much like complete abstinence—evidently a difficult concept for you— exile is really the only way to avoid pain and resentment on both sides: the mother is helping the husband avoid the excruciating boredom of the event (comparable according to the legend/myths perpetuated by those who have lived to tell the tale to having a fiber-optic scope shoved up your penis hole/urethra and pumped full of water*—an actual process for those with certain bladder infections)—and, on the mother-to-be’s side, just to be away from the guy who impregnated her.
